The Ant

Do you see that black speck right above the corner of the Ramen Noodles packet? That's an ant. His family lives right outside our window, and they all come in occasionally to see what's up in the Braun home.

Well, the first time I saw a little clump of them, they were engaged in dismantling a fly that I had killed earlier. I calmly and collectedly scooped them into a plastic baggie and then crushed them. And then ran screaming through the house until I deposited the package of ant and fly parts into the garbage can. And then screamed some more, while squirming and shuddering internally. And externally.

Anyway, that little guy survived all this. He then spent the day climbing up and over all the trash to get to the top. When I saw him, he had reached the pinnacle, the very top of the heap. An inspiration to us all... Making the best of a bad situation... Rising above it...

Still in the trash can.

Home, Sweet Home.

Bryan was so happy to see me.

For many reasons:

I brought home his baby.

And this is what was left in the fridge.

The man is two belt notches skinnier now...

Trading Spaces

I am currently sitting in a sea of stuff. There's so much stuff here, I don't even want it all anymore. I've been shifting around all my stuff ever since I got into town Thursday afternoon.

I randomly came across this picture. And it pricked me to my very center...

That's going to be me someday.

I think it was Bryan's idea all along to move to make me realize how much stuff we had. Mom said, "Three moves is as good as a fire." To which Bryan said, "Woohoo! Let's move two more times!" I'm just glad he didn't say, "Woohoo! Let's burn our apartment down and then begin anew!"

We're still living in Wymount, so the apartment is basically the same as the last one. Same carpet, same counters, same walls, same tile. (It's a bit confusing when I step outside.) The only difference is that now, where we used to have a closet, we now have another room.

Oh yeah. The other thing is that now I'm sitting in a sea of stuff that I don't want anymore!

The thing old people never tell young people when they move is "pay attention to where you pack things and where you put them in your new apartment, or you will have a giant mess and you will be ticked at yourself."

Well, they'd probably have told me if they thought I would listen.

Kids these days.

Uncle Bobbie!

When I was in Spokane, my dad's brother Bob came to see me! And Heidi.

Probably mostly Heidi. But that's what I get for being a little less cute than her.

Bryan is a Stud

Last weekend Bryan finished Marathon #2!

Bryan, Heidi, and I drove up to Spokane to run in the Windermere Marathon. That sounds like we all did. We all did not.

Needless to say.

But say it I did.

Anyway, you can read about it at Bryan's blog here.

Here's some videos!

Uh... with that first one, you'll want to skip ahead to 1:15. And stop the video at 1:30.

And here are the Braun boys' fans!

I like being a mommy.

I managed to graduate. Four years, one service mission, one season in the marching band, five apartments, one husband, and one baby later, I am done.

What am I done with? Provo? No. BYU? No. Learning? No. Home-work? No. Tests? No. Hmmm...

Anyway, with my newfound mommyhood/freedom, I've been having fun. I did chores on Monday and spent Tuesday reading in the library. Today I am starting a sewing project! It's a pattern I bought six or seven years ago. But I'm getting around to it, because I'm a finisher! Which is something I just started.

But the longer I blog, the longer until I have to figure out that sewing pattern.

I'll put some pictures up!
