I came home from student teaching today, and my baby was so big! Her hands were monstrous. She's gained a pound since leaving the hospital, but I finally saw it today. I'm missing my baby's first two months...
But this is what I've seen so far: she totally reached at something she was looking at. I think that's a milestone. And she's getting so good at holding her head up! And by good, I mean, better than she was. She doesn't do it as well as you do, but give her a break. She's two and a half weeks old.
But the best one so far: she spit up when I was changing her, and before I could reach for a new burp rag to wipe it off, she used her hand to try to wipe it off. Now, I still had to wipe the rest off, but I'm pretty sure that's another milestone.
Yay for baby.

I win.
Aunt Heidi had an excellent suggestion, which I implemented, and which blessed my life exceedingly. She said when I was up in the night with my baby feeding and changing and burping and changing and feeding and rocking and feeding and burping, to just put in a movie. It was a brilliant suggestion. I'm up for about as long as a feature-length film anyway.
So I went to bed with the movie loaded, the changing and feeding stuff out, and my inflatable donut on the couch. It was wonderful. I watched Return to Me last night. Whenever Heidi fussed, I picked her up, we went into the front room and turned the movie back on. I didn't want to go to sleep when Heidi did, and I couldn't wait until she fussed again. I'm pretty sure I beat the system.

Why I Like Not Being Pregnant
1. I can lay on my stomach or my back anytime I want.
2. I can zip up my old jeans now. Mostly.
3. I can take hot showers if I want to. Which I do.
4. I feel like working hard again.
5. My belly is significantly smaller now.
6. I got my wardrobe back. Yay for me.
7. People don't stare at me so much.
8. I can hug my husband again.
9. I can bend down.
10. I can do the dishes so much easier now. Theoretically.
11. I have a cute baby!
